It's the Season Finale & your vote counts!

The Waterbury Symphony Orchestra (WSO) presents an exciting and interactive concert experience that puts the power of programming in the hands of the audience and community! This unique event will showcase not only the winner of the Clark Young Artist Competition—which this year spotlights the saxophone—but will also feature a selection of works chosen directly by you through an interactive voting process below.

Leif's Delightful Dozen

Listen & Choose

your 5 favorites from below!

WSO’s Music Director, Leif Bjaland, was intrigued by the idea of involving you, our audience, in shaping the music program for our MasterWorks Season Finale. Inspired by this concept, he curated a list of twelve beloved classical pieces — none of which, to his surprise, has he performed with the WSO during his now 30 year tenure.

Throughout this month, through the voting survey below,  do take a moment to listen to Leif's chosen short clips for each of 'Leif's Delightful Dozen', and read his own musings about each piece’s history.

Then, at the bottom of this page, do vote for your 5 favorites. The top selections will be performed live by the WSO at our Season Finale, 'BOLERO & BALLOTS' June 1st MasterWorks concerts, making for an evening of fresh and unique programming that truly gives the WSO’s audience a voice.

This innovative project ensures that the program is both familiar - yet new, and celebrates cherished works while offering a fresh and exciting listening experience for all.
