Back to the Future in Concert with the Waterbury Symphony – Saturday, March 15, at 2:00 PM

Calling all Back to the Future fans! On March 15th, the Palace Theater will screen the beloved time-traveling classic Back to the Future like never before: with a live orchestral performance by the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra!

Get ready for a thrilling afternoon as Music Director, Leif Bjaland leads the orchestra in performing Alan Silvestri’s iconic musical score, synchronized to the film. Experience the magic of Back to the Future in a whole new way – seeing Marty McFly and Doc Brown on the big screen, all while hearing the orchestra bring the music to life. It’s a unique experience that combines the nostalgia of the movie with the excitement of a live performance.

As an extra treat, Broadway star Soara-Joye Ross will perform “Tomorrow” from Annie before the second half of the film, accompanied by students from the Waterbury Symphony’s Bravo Waterbury! music education program. This is an unforgettable event for the entire family!

Broadway Scores: Celebrating 20 Years of Broadway at The Palace – Saturday, May 17, at 7:00 PM

Fast forward to May 17, 2025, for another unforgettable WSO performance at The Palace Theater – a concert celebrating the 20th anniversary of the theater’s reopening with Broadway Scores. This star-studded night will feature eight Broadway stars alongside the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra, including legends like Debbie Gravitte, Jess LeProtto, and Andrea McArdle.

Under the baton of Andrew Carl Wilk, a five-time Emmy Award-winning producer and director, Broadway Scores will bring some of the greatest hits from Broadway to life. You’ll hear songs from shows like The Phantom of the Opera, Evita, Cats, and Annie, plus classic favorites like “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” “Memory,” and “Tomorrow.” It’s going to be a night full of musical memories and star power, all set in the stunning Palace Theater.

The WSO builds connections across the region with exploratory concerts, events, and educational programs.
