Ring in the celebration of the WSO's eightieth birthday with hits from the last eight decades. We'll "Sing, Sing, Sing" to Benny Goodman's 1936 hit, "Let it Go" with Disney's 2013 movie Frozen, and fill each decade in between with up tunes and ballads that could fill an 80 year desert island play list!

Waterbury, CT: Celebrate July 4th weekend with a casual, family-friendly concert featuring your Waterbury Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Leif Bjaland. The concert will be performed at Waterbury's Hamilton Park, the evening of Sunday, July 2, beginning at 8:30PM, with fireworks display at 9:15PM. The WSO concert will broadcast live to radio station WATR 1320AM, so tune in to some explosive listening to celebrate an American tradition, fireworks on Independence Day!  Come and enjoy front row seats to spectacular fireworks accompanied by a musical program that commemorates the Symphony's history in the community with timeless tunes that span decades and generations. Classic standards, beloved ballads, and patriotic favorites provide the perfect musical backdrop for an evening under the stars with friends, family, and good cheer. Listen, laugh, dine, and dance. WSO Picnic & Pops is music, served just right for summer. Admission is free, thanks to our season and event sponsor, MacDermid Performance Solutions. Presented in collaboration with the City of Waterbury, Office of the Mayor.
