Individual Giving

Ticket sales provide less than half of the revenue needed to meet the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra's budget each year. The WSO must depend upon the generosity of individuals and businesses in our community in order to continue to provide quality music and education programs.

The WSO asks that you consider making a gift to the organization. The Waterbury Symphony Orchestra is a 501(c) 3 organization, donations to which are tax-deductable (in accordance with the IRS tax laws).

If you would like to make a donation, please contact the WSO Office by phone: 203-574-4283 or via email. Or simply mail a check made payable to the "Waterbury Symphony Orchestra" to the following address:

Waterbury Symphony Orchestra
PO Box 1762
Waterbury, CT 06721

Donors of $25 or more will be listed in the season program booklet. Please be sure to indicate how you would like your name listed in the program booklet.

If you are 70+, here is an opportunity to donate IRA assets to the WSO:

The Pension Protection Act of 2006 provides an exciting opportunity for individuals aged 70½ or older to make a gift now using funds from an individual retirement account (IRA) without reporting it as taxable income.  You may contribute funds this way if:

  • The gift is $100,000 or less
  • You make the gift on or before December 31, 2007
  • You transfer funds from an IRA or Rollover IRA
  • You transfer the gift outright to one or more public charities. (This excludes gifts made to charitable trusts, donor advised funds and supporting organizations.)

For more information call the Waterbury Symphony Office at (203) 574-4283.
