A special evening to celebrate Bravo Waterbury! with Jamie Bernstein.

Jamie Bernstein, daughter of the legendary conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein, has produced and directed a Crescendo: The Power of Music featuring three young music students and their journey through El Sistema-inspired music programs in Philadelphia and New York City.  Originating as a “Social Change through Music” program over four decades ago in Venezuela, El Sistema has become an international movement, harnessing music to fuel social change. Jamie Bernstein’s film chronicles the growth and development of these young El Sistema students, whose lives are profoundly changed through the power of music.

Jamie Bernstein will host a screening of Crescendo, The Power of Music Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 5:00 PM in the Performing Arts Center at the Mattatuck Museum in downtown Waterbury, CT. This performance will benefit Bravo Waterbury!, Waterbury’s own El Sistema-inspired educational initiative, sponsored by the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra. Students and staff of Bravo will also perform following the screening of Crescendo, The Power of Music.

Benefit tickets are $35.00 per person. Seating is limited. For reservations call the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra administrative office: (203) 574-4283.
